Will this Imaginative Storm weekend suit my writing style?
Absolutely. No matter whether you’re a total beginner, a seasoned pro, or somewhere in between, during this weekend you’ll elevate your writing to a level of creativity and self-expression you’ve never experienced before.
As you explore the Imaginative Storm Write What You Don’t Know method, you will: 1) Train your rational mind to dance with your imagination—and let your imagination lead the dance. 2) Train your inner critic to be constructive rather than crushing. 3) Infuse your writing with playfulness and emotional depth. 4) Recognize and value your own voice. 5) Develop new insights and perspectives on yourself, other people, and the world around you. 6) Train your intuition to craft a strong, compelling story.
You’ll finish your weekend with an abiding confidence that your words and your writing will always have great power and range. Your imagination is your most powerful ally.
Join us, won’t you? Limit 12. Register today. 535€ includes tuition, room, and board.

14:00-16:30 - Writing Workshop: 1) Spin the Kaleidoscope of Your Mind: Hot-wire the connection between your imagination and your pen. Mix metaphors. Create chimeras. Zap zebras. Language is your sandbox. 2) Let Rip: What infuriates you? What do you love passionately? When you don't say what you really mean, what do you really want to say? Go ahead, Rant!

8:00-9:00: Breakfast
9:00-12:00 - Writing Workshop:
1) Common Senses: Your body is the basis for all your experiences. Speak to the senses, and your writing pulses with authenticity. Explore the rarer senses, and fresh perspectives emerge.
2) Go There: Everything happens somewhere, and every somewhere is filled with sensory detail. So how do you make a place real on the page? How do you infuse it with emotional resonance? How do you make a setting, and the objects in it, serve your story?
12:00-14:00 Lunch
14:00-16:30 Writing Workshop:
1) Socialese: Socialese is a language we all speak: the unarticulated language of human communication. Because we're so fluent in it, we rarely think about it. Yet it shapes every moment of our communal lives.
2) There's No Story If Nothing Changes: All writing tells a story, but what turns a sequence of events into a story? What's a beginning? What's an ending? What gives a story momentum? What makes it build to a satisfying climax?
66:30-17:00: Afternoon tea
